Wendy's primary responsibility is to support our Community School Coordinators in connecting with support services and programs, particularly with their Family Resource Centers. She is also responsible for bridging partnerships between communities and schools.

Wendy Ji, MPH

Student U Associate Director of Student & Family Services for the Community Schools Model

Wendy's Why:

I truly believe that healthy students learn better! I love how Student U supports the whole child and recognizes that there are factors outside of school that can impact how students are able to show up in class. I believe in Student U’s work, bridging connections between students, families, schools, and communities, and I know this will lead to a more equitable future.

Wendy outside of Student U:

Outside of Student U, I enjoy spending time outdoors (mosquito-free areas!), exploring Durham with my friends and family, watching any and all reality TV shows, and spending time with my very energetic dog.

Advice Wendy finds valuable:

During my first week at Student U, I was told that we might not do the work perfectly at first, but we are doing the work. This really resonated with me as it allowed me to better appreciate the small wins each day!
