Megan's primary responsibility is to holistically support our College Promise students and Student U alumni as they build connections and navigate their campus and/or community. She builds systems for college and college-age program participant students to lead and thrive.

Megan Stanley

Student U College Readiness and Success Coordinator

Megan's Why:

I value community, love, and imagination – all of which are required for envisioning and creating an equitable world and expansive future. Durham is the home that raised me, so I see my investment in Student U as an investment in the historically rich and resilient community where my roots are found. Joining the Student U team, I am honored and committed to work with and grow alongside our students and families as we collectively mobilize and advocate towards a Durham for all.

Megan outside of Student U:

Outside of Student U, I try to surround myself with relationships and activities that fill me with joy and rest. I am grateful for my family, friends, and the ad-hoc virtual communities that have emerged within the pandemic Zoom sphere. I enjoy podcasts, outdoor walks and runs, and opportunities to connect with others and facilitate spaces.

Advice Megan finds valuable:

“Emergent strategy is how we intentionally change in ways that grow our capacity to embody the just and liberated worlds we long for.” – adrienne maree brown
