Alyzia's primary responsibility is to support and advise our Community School Coordinators in introducing and implementing the Community Schools strategy. Alyzia will lead the strategic planning and implementation of shared leadership structures inside schools to address needs and bring awareness to the student, family, and staff experience while informing Student U’s Sharing Best Practices model.

Alyzia F. McAlmon, MSW

Student U Associate Director of Community & Family Engagement for the Community Schools Model

Alyzia's Why:

Student U has been a staple in my life for nearly 20 years. I have always embraced career opportunities that allow me to drive change and improve systems designed to let students like me fall through the cracks. Student U continues to do the long and hard work. I am grateful for the opportunity to advise other professionals and expand my knowledge and awareness of other dreamers and do-ers on the regional and state level who want healthy outcomes for children/youth and families.

Alyzia outside of Student U:

I enjoy spending quality time with close friends, family, and my 4-year-old fur-daughter, Enzo. I am always on board to travel, domestically or internationally, and create new memories. I am the oldest of five and enjoy supporting my siblings in every academic and extracurricular activity. I also love trying new restaurants and exploring new date-night activities with my significant other, Maurice.

Advice Alyzia finds valuable:

“Remember to Offer Grace from Within”: We often forget that the toughest criticism usually comes from within. It is essential to be the first person to offer yourself grace as you navigate the systems around you.
