Student U Housing Authority Grab 346K In Dropout Grants

DURHAM — Two Durham organizations will use state dropout prevention grants to build on their existing work.

Student U, a program aimed at helping public school students enter college, and the Durham Housing Authority won grants of $171,000 and $175,000, respectively. The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction announced the awards, part of an overall package of $13 million distributed among 83 organizations, Tuesday.
