As a Community Schools Coordinator, Felecia supports the school by connecting students and families with resources that remove barriers to learning. This role strengthens relationships among students, families, school staff, and community partners to support student success both inside and outside the classroom. She collaborates closely with school staff to align academic supports, social-emotional needs, family engagement, and community partnerships, ensuring the school functions as a hub of services that promote student success and overall well-being. Additionally, Felecia works with parents and caregivers through workshops, resources, and engagement opportunities that empower families to actively support their children’s learning.

Felecia Chambers

Community School Coordinator-Mt. Gilead Elementary School

Felecia's Why:

I value equity in education, early intervention, and creating clear pathways that help students and families overcome systemic barriers. I believe in investing in programs that combine academic support with mentoring, social-emotional development, and family engagement. I invest in Student U because its long-term, relationship-driven approach aligns with my commitment to helping students not only succeed academically, but also persist through high school and into college. Supporting Student U means investing in sustainable change and expanding opportunities for first-generation and underrepresented students.

Felecia outside of Student U:

I live out my values by staying deeply connected to my family and community, prioritizing relationships that foster trust, collaboration, and shared responsibility. Through youth-focused programs, mentoring, and education-centered side hustles and community events, I consistently create safe, engaging spaces for children and families. I value balance and personal growth, which is reflected in my interest in wellness, lifelong learning, creativity, and travel experiences that broaden perspective and cultural understanding. In both my personal and professional life, I strive to model service, resilience, and a commitment to lifelong learning.

Advice Felecia finds valuable:

Build relationships before programs—because trust, consistency, and listening to the community are what make any initiative effective, meaningful, and sustainable.
