FAFSA Night

Is your child graduating from high school this year and planning to go to college or a university next fall?

Now is the time to get ready for FAFSA!

FAFSA (Free Application for Federal Student Aid) is a free form that helps you find out what money may be available to help pay for college. This can include grants, scholarships, work-study jobs, and student loans.

FAFSA can feel confusing, but you don’t have to do it alone. Join us for Student U FAFSA Night! Students and families can get help filling out the FAFSA, ask questions, and take an important step toward paying for college.

Bring your questions. We’ll bring the support.

WHAT TO BRING:

To make filling out the FAFSA easier, students and families should bring:

  • StudentAid.gov account information for the student and parent(s), if already created
  • Social Security numbers for the student and parent(s), if applicable
  • Driver’s license, if the student has one
  • Federal tax information for the student and parent(s)
  • Records of income and assets, if needed
  • A list of colleges or universities the student is considering
  • A laptop or device you can use to complete the FAFSA
  • Your questions! We’re here to help you through the process.

We are looking for volunteers who are comfortable walking families through the FAFSA application, answering questions about financial aid documents, or simply offering encouragement throughout the evening. Bilingual volunteers (Spanish/English) are particularly welcome.
