Javae’ Bromell

Javae'

Javae’ Bromell is a High School Senior graduating this spring as part of the Class of 2020. Her dream is for more people to have access to a great education and for fewer people to be on the streets. She plans to attend college and become an OB/GYN so she can help women with their health to make a healthier world. Javae’ recognizes she will have to be committed to her studies and spend a lot of time at school to succeed. She shared, “It’s personal for me, I want to see my family happy, I’ll be the first child of my mom’s that will be going to college and the second to graduate high school. I want to see everybody around me, proud of me.”

Javae’ plans to attend college this fall and has already started taking early classes at Durham Tech to get ahead of some of her freshman classes. Student U will continue to support her on her journey to college graduation as she continues to create change in her community. “Student U has always pushed me to be my best me! They always see potential in me, and they never gave up on me,” said Javae’.

She hopes her life will be different because she will have a different mindset and will be able to make a difference in others’ lives through her work with women’s health.

One piece of advice she would give her younger peers is this: “Stay focused and don’t lose sight of your vision.”

Find out where Javae’ has chosen to go to college on Monday, June 1, at 10:00 am on Facebook Live @StudentUDurham.
