Bria Davenport - Middle School Coordinator Assistant

Student U Middle School Program Coordinator

Bria's primary responsibility is to plan the logistics for Middle School Program, such as field trips, Field Day, special programming.

Bria's Why:
The reason I invest so much into Student U is because I love Durham and one of my favorite core values is loyalty! Durham is my hometown, Student U is based in the neighborhood I grew up in and makes it so easy to give back to a community that has given so much to me. It also shows students what they have the capability to do even if they don’t start off with a lot.

Bria outside of Student U:
I own a business that curates events for black women seeking personal development resources and helps them get out and connect with other women in the city. I have always had a “tribe” in the city since a child so I wanted to help other women have those same resources and people by creating spaces for them to be their authentic selves.

Advice Bria finds valuable:
Everything isn’t going to happen overnight, this work has long-term results that doesn’t happen immediately. Knowing this has helped me to be more patient with life and my work outside of Student U.
