Student U has raised $25 million dollars over the past ten years in cash and an additional $5 million dollars in in-kind donations. In 2017, Student U acquired management responsibilities over the 55,000 square foot W.G. Pearson Center building after an extensive renovation process without taking on debt. For the past decade, Student U has built and maintained a reserve so that, in the event of an unexpected deficit or philanthropic shortfall, the organization would be able to maintain its commitments to students and families with the same level of excellence. As a result, Student U was able to cover all 2018 expenses without obtaining any debt.
Each year, Student U undergoes a full financial audit. For eleven years in a row, Student U has received a clean opinion with no findings.
*Student U’s 2018 operating income and expenses are reflected here, while the official audited financial statements vary based on new categorizations of funds due to the acquisition of assets and the renovation of The W.G. Pearson Center. For a copy of our audited financial statements please contact Amy Salo at amy.salo@studentudurham.org.
Student U is proud of the success of our students and of our continued financial accountability. For your review are our current and past annual reports.
