High School Advocate

High school advocates will work closely with Student U’s high school staff to support students and their families as they prepare for high school graduation and college acceptance. The high school advocates will be responsible for mentoring, supporting and advocating for a small cohort of students within their school.

Ideal candidates for this position will have proven record of developing strong relationships with students and families and being an advocate for students and families. In addition to this, candidates will be resourceful, dedicated to the task of supporting first-generation students, believe all children can succeed when adequately supported, and able to fully immerse into a community-driven organization. Middle School After-School Instructor

The Middle School After-school Instructor role is designed for passionate individuals who believe fervently in the brilliance and potential of our students. After-school Instructors will work daily throughout the school year with the same group, or “family,” of 10-15 middle school students, acting as an academic coach, mentor, and constant source of support for each student. After-school Instructors will work closely with the Middle School Program Coordinators to ensure that each student is receiving the support, intervention, and enrichment that he or she needs to be successful academically, emotionally, and socially during the school year.

Club Teacher

The Year Round Program Club Teacher position is designed for passionate, capable individuals who desire to enrich our students by developing the whole-child. A club teacher will lead elective classes two days a week to groups of 10-12 middle school students. Each club will enrich our students and extend their success in the classroom by focusing on the arts, STEM development, social and emotional well-being, and physical health. Club teachers will work closely with the Middle School Program Coordinators to develop lessons that reinforce and extend our students’ widespread talents.
